PROJECT ETHOS CODE OF CONDUCT
The Project Ethos Community is built from the ground up to be a place where everyone is welcome. We’re invested in every player having fun, no matter who they are or how they choose to play. To help us build the best community in games, we’re asking you to follow these rules and lead by example.
1. The Golden Rule: Be Kind.
- Treat everyone with respect. Do not engage in any offensive, harmful, or inappropriate conduct while playing Project Ethos. We want everyone in our community to enjoy the game, and we take any breaking of this golden rule extremely seriously.
Examples of unacceptable conduct include:
- threatening or promoting violence, terrorism, suicide, or self-harm;
- intimidating, harassing, or bullying other players;
- violating other players' privacy;
- engaging in hate speech, discrimination, misogyny, bigotry, or racism;
- soliciting or engaging in any form of sexually explicit activity; or
- engaging in any other conduct which we deem to be unacceptable.
- Before you say or do something unkind, please stop and take a breath. If you don't, be prepared for the consequences of your actions.
- Don’t cheat. That means any and all breaking of the game or its rules. Exploiting glitches or using unauthorized mods and tools are not allowed. If you suspect someone else is cheating, report them. We will investigate.
- Getting excited about the match is great, but ruining the game for others is not. Don’t grief, troll, or sabotage other players. This includes abandoning your team (i.e., AFK), especially since teamwork is critical to fun and success.
2. Help Out
- If you witness or are on the receiving end of any bad behaviour, use the in-game tools or the 2K support site to report it. Don’t try to handle issues yourself or add to the problem by jumping into the fray.
3. Protect your information
- Don’t share or ask for personal details like addresses or phone numbers. Don’t share any personal details with anyone in the game. No one from the 2K team will ever ask you for those details while you’re in the game.
- Secure your game account. Don’t share your password. Don’t let anyone else play on your account. If you choose to stream your gameplay be especially careful to hide your personal information from your audience.
4. Respect The Game
- Your player name in the game must follow the same guidelines as your behaviour. No hateful, bigoted, offensive, or racist words.
- Don’t share or create content that steals from others or uses cheats and hacks. Don’t celebrate bad behaviour in your content.
- Make sure any game-related content you make is appropriate and follows the game rules.
5. Follow the Rules
- The rules are in place to keep the game fun and the community healthy. You’re expected to follow them.
- Breaking the rules can lead to a variety of consequences, from warnings to suspensions and account bans.
6. Give Feedback
- We love feedback and we welcome it! Love something? Let us know. Struggling with something — let us know! Just keep it constructive. Thoughtful feedback will help us improve the game and community for everyone.
- You can provide feedback directly by using the feedback channel in our official Discord server.
7. Have some fun!
- Join in! We hope you’ll participate in the community outside of the game — join the Discord, come to events, dive into discussions, create some fan art! While you’re doing so, please respect the moderators, organisers and dev team members you come in contact with. We’re here to help.
- Remember, games are supposed to be fun. If you’re not having fun, step away, clear your mind, touch grass and come back later. We’ll be here to welcome you back!
These rules build upon the 2K Code of Conduct for Fair Play and the User Rules contained in Section 6 of our Terms of Service. For all the details and legal language please check them out.
